Scratched Mighty Mouse!
Today I was deeply sad to find out that my mighty mouse is scratched.
As I was starting to work today, I noticed what seemed to be a “grease spot” on top of my might mouse. So I tried to clean it. But the spot insisted to remain where it was, and I was forced to take a closer look. So what I found was that it was a scratch spot on top of my new mighty mouse… What on Earth could have done it ?!?
Then suddenly it came to me. I went checking and found the reason… Oh Apple, my Apple! The case you send the mighty mouse in, is a trap!
I also found that my cusin has had the very same problem, so this was reason enough for me to post it here.
The thing is, as probably most of the new mighty mouse owners, I removed the rest of the stuff inside mighty mouse’s little case, and kept using it for transporting the mouse around, thinking it was a safe place to put it and avoid scratches. That was indeed the opposite, as the case creates them.
By removing all the other stuff that comes with the mouse inside it’s case, it gets a gap and so the mouse gets somewhat loose. By carying it in by backpack, I can never assure it to be in the straight position, and so the mouse falls and presses it’s top shiny curve on to the acrylic inner top of the case. The shaking movements will take care of creating a messy scratch spot right on top of your shinny new Apple Mighty Mouse.
To prevent further damage I now use a cloth on top of the mouse every time I put it into the case, and that solves the problem.
Check the photos below to see it, and spread the word! Cheers!
